CHELMSFORD ADULT SOCIAL DAY PROGRAM
If you know an elder who is experiencing isolation, dementia, depression, or insufficient mental and/or physical stimulation, please consider the Chelmsford Adult Social Day Program.  We provide a supervised, caring atmosphere Monday through Friday from 8:30-3pm for eligible seniors, while also providing respite and peace of mind for caregivers. Participants receive individual and group attention in a structured setting. Our program of activities and exercise builds confidence and self-esteem while providing fun and socialization for our clients.  For more information please call Colleen Normandy, LSW at 978-788-6178.

COMPANION-RESPITE CARE
This cost-effective program (for local area residents) allows the caregiver much needed personal time for themselves, out of the house, getting a break, while the Client receives supervision through activities, a light meal (if needed) and companionship. The program is managed by a Companion Coordinator with an experienced staff of Companions available to meet the needs of each client.  For more information, call or see Betty Chaput at the Senior Center, 978-788-6174.

FITNESS ROOM
The Fitness Room features the latest state-of-the-art equipment, much of it designed with seniors in mind. The 1000 square foot space holds commercial grade cardio equipment including treadmills, total body recumbent steppers and elliptical machines. All cardio machines face three flat-screened TV’s and stations can be changed upon request. Strength training equipment includes lateral pull downs, a chest press, upper back and leg press, and a dumbbell rack with various size weights.  The strength equipment utilizes compressed air to eliminate the need to change weights for varied resistance and can be adjusted by fingertip control. The entire Fitness Room has Wi-Fi throughout for smartphone music play (please use own earpieces/earbuds), exercise logs (personal USB Memory Stick accessible or paper forms), and storage lockers for personal items. Please call or visit the Senior Center for membership and/or trial membership information.  978-251-0533.

FRIENDS CAFE
The new WiFi Café, which has now been officially named the Friends Café, offers our seniors a vibrant and modern space as an alternative destination in which to socialize with new people, keep up on current events, and possibly learn a few new computer skills. In addition to this new and bustling social scene, the Café will be offering healthy drink and snack options, casual indoor/outdoor seating, periodic computer training, and free WiFi access.

Not only does the Café offer a new place for individual seniors to gather but is quickly becoming a new place for small groups to hold meetings rather than their normal local donut shop chain or fast food restaurant.  And during the warmer months, the newly installed pergola and outdoor furniture make the large attached porch the ideal setting for enjoying a beverage with friends, holding a meeting, or just enjoying the sights and sounds of the surrounding environment.
